Haiku

The sound installation Haiku (2023) evokes the evanescent bell tolling of a poem by Matsuo Bashō, a famous traditional Japanese poet of the 17th century. Just like in haiku poetic art, the work uses few, minimal elements to describe a fragile balance between the natural and anthropic components, crystallizing a fleeting moment. In its immediacy and apparent simplicity, the work wants to go to the essence of sound by showing what is invisible, its vibration.
