Recalling the classical tradition of the natura morta, the sculpture’s formal composition uses sound to capture the residual vital energy within harvested fruit. By inserting two electrodes into the fruit, its chemical energy is converted into an electrical potential. This voltage is used to directly drive and modulate the sound, which resonates from within an acoustic sphere crafted from acrylic stone.
